Street, Oxford, OX1 2DU.
Oxford Seventh Day Adventist Church has been involved in this project for many years not only financially, but also by preparing food and providing volunteers during daily sessions. The aimThe aim of Gatehouse is to welcome the homeless and lonely, and provide a place where companionship, dignity, and refreshment can be found in a warm and safe environment. The valuesThe values of Gatehouse reflect Christian tradition, although staff, volunteers, benefactors and guests of all faiths are welcome. Among the main values are integrity, respect, trust, forgiveness, acting in a friendly manner, treating all with dignity, respect and honesty. Gatehouse is a registered charity relying on a city council grant and voluntary contributions. The food provided is largely donated by individuals, churches and other organisations. All work is highly dependent on a large base of volunteers, who come from a wide range of different backgrounds. People can volunteer in different ways: to help during a session, to fundraise, to donate funds, clothing, food, blankets, candles, to deliver letters and posters, make food, and undertake other projects.
